Copan BSB Excelling Despite Small Numbers

Another small school baseball program is excelling in 2025 in northeast Oklahoma, as the Copan Hornets are hosting their own conference tournament this weekend. Hoping to dodge the raindrops, the Super Six Conference will have its event over the next two days in Washington County.

Copan enters the tournament at 13-7 on the year. A pretty remarkable record considering Copan has only had nine players for most of the season. There are 10 guys out of the team, but rotating injuries have kept no subs in the dugout throughout most of the season.

Hornet head coach Daniel Wren talks about the Copan roster.

As far as the Super Six Conference Tournament goes, Copan will open things up with Bluejacket in the first round today.

Wren talks about what he wants to see this weekend.

Copan-Bluejacket gets started at noon on Friday. Barnsdall will face the winner of Foyil and South Coffeyville later in the day on Friday, as well.
