The cool and wet weather in this part of the state has moved some sporting events around that were originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

Oklahoma Wesleyan’s baseball team got through a three game set that wrapped up on Sunday. OKWU hit the jackpot and pulled off the sweep.

Wesleyan beat the Swedes 9-4 and 7-2 on Thursday, and completed the sweep with an 18-0 win on Sunday.

Head coach Kirk Kelley says that after opening up the season in Florida, his guys have kept the momentum going their way.

The wins give OKWU five straight victory after its first two-game losing skid of the year last week. The Eagles are a consensus top 15 team in the country at 34-5 on the season. Wesleyan is 21-4 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, tied for the conference lead with Kansas Wesleyan.

Some stats to show Oklahoma Wesleyan’s offensive prowess…

Going into this weekend, the Eagles are hitting .346 as a team, good for No. 11 in the country. They have tallied 463 hits, which is No. 3 in the nation. OKWU’s 88 home runs is ranked second in the NAIA, and the Eagles 200 extra base hits rank at No. 3, as well.

OKWU gets Evangel University next on Tuesday afternoon in Springfield, Missouri. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
